Go Green

Theme for 2021:  "Garden for Nature"

Coming September 11th!

Mission Statement:  "Go Green serves the citizens of Hampton Roads and beyond with a free, family-friendly event that informs on green and sustainable practices for the whole family."

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have had to make many changes to the way we run our programs.  Some of these changes have been directed by the CDC and our state and local governments.  Changes were also directed by the Virginia Cooperative Extension, our governing body.

This year’s event will be a scaled down version from other Go Greens in the past.

We will hold in person lectures and workshops. All events will require attendees to register for that particular event. We will have a lecture on the importance of planting natives in your landscape.  There will also be a lecture on the value native trees serve in sustaining the environment. Attendees to the Tree Lecture will have of choice of free trees to carry home with them after the lecture.  We will hold a morning and afternoon rain barrel and vermiculture workshops.

The lectures are free but there is a fee involved with the rain barrel and vermiculture kits.

For those unable to attend we still have many informative videos on our You Tube channel. Visit this site or our main website, nnmastergardeners.org, for updates.

These are trying times for all of us.  With your continued support, we can make Go Green 2021 better than ever!  The Peninsula Master Gardeners again thank you for your help and wish you, your families and friends good health!
